Everything You Need to Know About the 2026 Certification and Compliance Inspections
The 2026 certification and compliance visits are fast approaching! Here’s what you need to know if your camp is scheduled for a visit this summer.
Scheduling an Appointment
Consultants will contact camps scheduled for visits this summer between mid-May and mid-June to schedule their visits. If you haven’t already been contacted, you will be reached shortly to set a date.
Your cooperation is essential!
This summer, more than 230 camp organizations will be visited across Quebec’s 17 administrative regions as part of the certification program or the Reference Framework for Municipal Day Camps.
Given the scale of this initiative, we greatly appreciate your flexibility in accommodating your consultant.
For an effective and constructive visit
To make the most of your consultant’s visit, here are the key points to keep in mind:
- Availability and efficiency: the designated representative should be present for the visit and to discuss standards or guidelines
- Preparation and organization: documents ready or sent in advance, organized in a binder or digital folder
- Accessibility and transparency: access to the entire site, opportunity to interact with staff and youth, a day that is representative of a typical day
- Openness and collaboration: an approach that fosters a positive and enriching visit
As a reminder
Someone from your organization must have completed the full training on interpreting standards or guidelines, depending on your program:
- Training on interpreting standards (available in french and english)
- Training on interpreting guidelines (available in french only)
A preparatory meeting for the visit will be held on June 4 to answer any questions about how the visit will proceed:
A dedicated team at your service
Although you will be assigned a single consultant, more than 40 professionals will be traveling throughout Quebec all summer long to visit camps and support you in your efforts.

Requests for Exemptions
On May 1, all ACQ members received an email containing the exemption form for hiring counsellors and support staff who have not met the standard educational requirements.
We invite you to review the procedure for submitting an exemption request and to fill out the form (if applicable).
Two resources for your last-minute staff recruitment
If you’re still short a few people to fill out your recreation teams, don’t forget that you can post your job openings in the “Recreation Jobs” Facebook group.
Certified member camps also have access to a database of unsolicited applications available in their member area (this service is not available to municipal day camps).
