Labour Standards: A New Video to Support Camp Managers
The Quebec Camp Association’s Legal Index has been expanded with a brand-new video dedicated to labour standards.
Running approximately 30 minutes, this video provides a clear, practical overview tailored to the realities of camp life, designed to support managers in their day-to-day operations.
Designed specifically for the camp environment, this video helps viewers better understand legal obligations and make informed decisions regarding human resources management. It is an accessible, practical tool with direct, on-the-ground benefits.
In this guide, you will find, among other things:
- The basics of labour standards applicable in camps
- Specific considerations related to jobs in the recreation sector
- Employers’ obligations toward employees
- Examples to help you better understand and interpret the rules
- Tips for preventing risky situations
This project was made possible thanks to financial contributions from the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) and Centraide of Greater Montreal.
Check out the capsule and the fact sheet in the Legal Index now to strengthen your practices and ensure your organization’s compliance.
Vers une intégration réussie: The Updated Needs Assessment Form
The “Toward Successful Integration” toolkit continues to evolve to better support camp managers in welcoming participants with special needs. With this in mind, the needs assessment form—a key tool in the integration request review phase—has been completely revised.
This new version now takes into account the requirements related to the protection of personal information (Bill 25), while incorporating industry best practices. It aims to facilitate the collection of information that is both relevant and respectful in order to promote informed decision-making, in the best interests of the participants and the camp team.
This update will allow you to:
- Structure the needs assessment rigorously.
- Collect essential information while respecting confidentiality;
- Strengthen collaboration with families and partners;
- Support accommodation measures based on clear data;
- Standardize assessment practices within your organization.
Revised in collaboration with the Association québécoise pour le loisir des personnes handicapées (AQLPH), this guide is part of our commitment to providing up-to-date tools tailored to the realities of camp settings.

2026 Promotional Campaign for Certified Camps and Camp Jobs
Every year, the start of spring break marks the launch of the ACQ’s promotional campaign.
Once again this year, the campaign has two main components: certified camps with the tagline “Endless Memories” and camp jobs with “Your Camp, Your Crew.” All promotional opportunities share the same goal: to drive traffic to the campsquebec.com website, specifically to the camp search engine and the job board.
Special Supplement in the Journal de Québec and the Journal de Montréal
The big promotional campaign kicked off with the publication of special supplements titled “Spring Break and Summer Camps” in the Journal de Québec and the Journal de Montréal on February 21. The ACQ gained significant visibility through two articles and a front-page banner, and about ten camps benefited from a preferential rate to be featured as well.
Information Co-ops
In March, the ACQ also ran digital ads in the daily newspapers *Le Nouvelliste* (Trois-Rivières) and *Le Droit* (Outaouais).
À l’Affiche
For many years, we have relied on this Quebec-wide distribution and poster network for our printed promotional materials.

Arsenal Media
Building on the positive experience of the past two years, the ACQ has once again turned to the Arsenal Media network to distribute its promotional materials. This year, the focus is on visibility on local news sites and in newsletters in the Joliette, Bas-Saint-Laurent, and Beauce regions.

July 15–17, 2026: Get ready for the Animation and Support Days!
For this twelfth edition, the Animation and Support Days (JDAA) will take place from July 15 to 17, 2026.
The JDAA’s goal remains the same: to highlight the essential contribution of recreation and support staff by recognizing their skills and strengthening their pride and sense of belonging.
Photo Contest
For the occasion, the Conseil québécois du loisir (CQL) and its partners, including the ACQ, are organizing a team photo contest. These photos could reflect various skills (e.g., leading, supporting, adapting to others’ needs, inspiring, raising awareness, finding solutions, ensuring safety, creating, collaborating…). Photos shared on Facebook in July with the hashtag #JDAA26 could win prizes.
Customizable e-card templates and a wall of thanks will also be made available to managers and families.
Why in July?
It’s no coincidence that the JDAA takes place at the end of the third week of July, when teams may be showing signs of fatigue. The JDAA is designed to support managers in recognizing and motivating their teams. Taking photos and sharing them on the CQL’s and partners’ social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) can therefore be part of your plan for recognition and team-building activities.
