Job Description
Activity Program Officers are responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive environment where campers are able to develop concrete skills outlined in the Tim Camps programs. This is done through preparation, facilitation and debriefing activities to bring out their understanding and self-awareness. Activity program managers analyze the capacities of their group and adapt activities according to the group's state of readiness. They are responsible for assessing and managing risks and ensuring that the CFHT program and wellness standards are met. This position includes the maintenance of equipment and spaces, the counting of equipment and the responsibility for the premises.
Includes activity program officers for the following activities: archery, cycling, creative arts, digital media, environment, field, obstacle course, and music.

Responsabilités
Description of tasks
- Connecting with youth, ages 11 to 17, that reflects respect, trust and empathy;
- Deliver high-quality activity programs, carefully designed to produce specific results and develop positive skills;
- Inspire youth to discover their strengths, overcome their limitations, and build resilience and leadership skills in a safe and supportive environment;
- Encourage camper development by respecting their own responsiveness and pace of learning, and recognize their accomplishments;
- Mentor and support other staff members by acting in an inclusive and supportive manner;
- Use respectful and positive behaviour management techniques;
- Lead by example in healthy choices and emotional maturity;
- Present high-quality activities to campers;
- Identify, assess, manage and respond to risks appropriately by constantly ensuring the care and safety of participants, guests and staff;
- Provide coaching, knowledge and skills among other staff;
- Be challenged physically and mentally by living at camp for 8-day sessions, with 3 days off between sessions;
- Ensure that the activity sites are organized, equipped and in good condition;
- Present programs in accordance with CFTHC and accreditation body standards.
Profil
Qualifications sought
- Experience working with youth aged 11 to 17;
- Experience in facilitation, strong skills with groups and ability to adapt to individual or group needs;
- Positive behaviour management and problem-solving skills;
- First Aid Certificate + CPR (adult, child, infant) with AED, or ready to obtain;
- Acceptable criminal record checks;
- Ability to live on-site for an extended period of time and work a flexible schedule.
